AI-generated information can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check information and order details before relying on them. Trading involves risk, including loss of principal.

Before you start

You need an Aries account and an AI client that supports remote MCP servers. The Aries server runs in the cloud, so there is nothing to install for most clients.

Server details

Claude

  1. Open Claude and go to Settings, then Connectors.

  2. Choose Add custom connector.

  3. Name it Aries and paste the server URL.

  4. Select Connect and sign in to Aries when prompted.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, then start a new session:

claude mcp add --transport http aries https://mcp.aries.com/mcp

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors.

  2. Turn on developer mode under Advanced settings.

  3. Create a connector named Aries and paste the server URL.

  4. Sign in to Aries when prompted, then enable the connector in a chat.

Cursor

Add Aries to ~/.cursor/mcp.json and restart Cursor:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "aries": {
      "url": "https://mcp.aries.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

Add Aries to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace, then start the server from the MCP view:

{
  "servers": {
    "aries": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.aries.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Other clients

Clients that only run local servers can connect through a bridge such as mcp-remote:

npx -y mcp-remote https://mcp.aries.com/mcp

Check that it works

Start a new chat and ask: “Using Aries, what’s the last price of SPY?” If the client shows Aries tools and returns a quote, you’re connected.

Stay in control

  • Grant only the permissions you need. Trading permissions may allow your agent to submit, change or cancel orders, not just draft them.

  • Review order details and understand your AI client’s confirmation settings before enabling trading.

  • Disconnect clients you no longer use.
