The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Knightscope is viewed positively because its fiscal Q2 2026 revenue surged 228% y-o-y to $9.0 million, following Q1 2026 revenue growth of 106% y-o-y to $6.0 million, showing strong momentum in its autonomous security and emergency communications businesses. The March 2026 acquisition of Event Risk is especially important because it adds contracted revenue, positive EBITDA, and licensed guarding capabilities, while also creating a unified Autonomous Security Force model that can combine autonomous systems, central monitoring, and response. Despite continued losses and a net loss of $14.1 million in Q2, the company’s large addressable market, triple-digit 2026 revenue growth expectation, and expanded Sunnyvale headquarters support a bullish view on longer-term scaling and margin improvement.

Bear case

Knightscope is challenged by significant balance sheet and liquidity risk, which limits flexibility to fund operations, scale its autonomous security platform, and absorb setbacks. Its outlook is also pressured by uncertainty around commercializing its product suite, alongside the risk that changing technologies could make its offerings obsolete while stronger competitors capture demand. In addition, changing macroeconomic factors and shifting investor, enterprise, and government priorities for security could weaken adoption and sentiment toward technology and security stocks.
