The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Liftoff Mobile is positioned as a differentiated growth engine because its Cortex AI platform, DSP, SSP, and SDK create a data-rich flywheel that improves targeting, auction outcomes, and monetization efficiency over time. Its outlook is strengthened by a diversified mix with roughly 52% of demand and about one-third of supply outside gaming, helping reduce reliance on a competitive market where it still appears to be gaining share, while core advertising revenue has grown about 8% sequentially for eleven quarters through Q2:26. Fundamentally, the company benefits from a large IAA gaming market of about $27 billion, rising customer retention with 130% net dollar retention, and strong contribution margins of 73% in FY:24 and 71% in FY:25, with 70%+ recent margins and potential expansion toward 63% by FY:28E.

Bear case

Liftoff Mobile is viewed negatively because its Q3:26 guidance was only $217–222 million, implying sequential revenue of down 1% to up 1% after eleven straight quarters of growth averaging about 8%, while adjusted EBITDA margin is expected to fall roughly 300 bps. Its Q2:26 balance sheet also showed $305 million of cash against $1,411 million of debt, or 2.4x net leverage, leaving less flexibility if weak ROAS slows retention and cross-sell while heavier competition from larger platforms pressures pricing and customer acquisition. The concern is amplified by its shrinking reseller footprint, only 23 reseller connections and no direct connections in June ’26, plus a low 18.0% free float that can weigh on liquidity and investor sentiment.
