The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

NextTrip is benefiting from a sharp Q1 fiscal 2027 turnaround, with revenue rising to $1.5 million from $0.1 million year over year and beating estimates, while management still reaffirmed FY27 revenue guidance of $6.4 million and EBITDA guidance of $1.6 million. Its proprietary NXT2.0 booking engine, multiple travel brands, and media properties such as Journy.tv, Travel Magazine, and GoUSA TV create a differentiated model that links high-intention content to booking conversion and recurring advertising revenue. Although it remains challenged by profitability and a competitive OTA market, the company’s expanding customer base, new business wins, and improving visibility into sales and cash flows support a constructive fundamental outlook.

Bear case

NextTrip is facing a weak fundamental profile because it posted a $3.1 million net loss, leaving little evidence that its travel-and-media model is approaching profitability. Its balance sheet also looks strained, with just $1 million in cash against $4 million in debt, even after the Chairman converted about $3.5 million of debt into preferred equity in September 2026. That leverage, combined with exposure to liquidity risk, competition, advertiser and supplier relationships, and shifting consumer demand, supports a negative outlook.
