The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

SentinelOne is supported by a strengthening demand backdrop, with the “Mythos” catalyst driving more inbound interest, sales cycles compressing by about 15%, and management continuing to hire direct sales reps across segments despite the 8% workforce reduction on 5/29. Its fundamentals remain solid, as F2Q27 revenue rose 21% y/y to $292.0M, ARR increased 22% y/y to $1.22B, and non-GAAP operating margin improved to 10.5% from 2.2% a year ago, reflecting better scale and sales efficiency. The company also benefits from platform diversification, with non-endpoint products above 50% of ARR, AI Security nearly tripling y/y, and net retention north of 110%, suggesting durable expansion potential within its installed base.

Bear case

SentinelOne is facing a negative outlook because macro weakness and slower SaaS/cloud adoption can curb IT security spending, lengthen sales cycles, and amplify volatility, while its roughly 30% international revenue exposure adds FX risk. Competitive pressure from legacy and emerging rivals, plus newer security technologies, may force pricing pressure and market-share loss, especially if it cannot sustain innovation or attract skilled talent. Although revenue was guided to $309M–$311M and ARR to $1.281B, margin quality is weakening as gross margin fell to 77.1% from 79.1% a year ago, customer growth slowed to 13%, and free cash flow was $(13.2)M.
