The case for and against

Updated Oct 15, 2026

Bull case

Stubhub Holdings is supported by a leading secondary ticketing position with 47% market share, deep inventory, and growing partnerships that can extend its platform into direct issuance and advertising. Its 2Q results were strong, with GMS up 34% y/y to about $600M and revenue up 33% y/y, while management reiterated '26E EBITDA guidance of $400M-$420M and a net leverage ratio of 4.8x after $100M of debt repayment. Even with conservative back-half GMS guidance, the business still appears positioned for continued monetization from high-demand concerts, AI-powered distribution tools, and broader rollout of higher-margin growth initiatives.

Bear case

Stubhub Holdings is viewed negatively because the business faces slowing core secondary growth, uncertainty in 2H26, and tougher comp pressure from more than $900mm of World Cup GMS, which together undermine confidence in 2027 revenue, GMS, and EBITDA. Competitive risk, dependence on consumer demand for large-scale live events, and execution challenges around direct issuance, advertising, and technology all threaten share gains and operating leverage, while all-in pricing impacts in the US market appear stronger than expected. Even with 2026 GMS of $10.35bn and EBITDA of $413mm, the outlook remains fragile because management’s disciplined guide suggests possible pull-forward or substitution effects rather than durable demand strength.
