Event Contract Risk Disclosure

Effective date: 10/24/26

Event contracts involve substantial risk and are not suitable for everyone. You can lose the entire amount paid for a contract, plus applicable fees. Read the terms for each market and the account documents before trading.

Who provides the service

Aries Futures LLC is a CFTC-registered introducing broker and NFA member (NFA ID 0573286). This disclosure covers ForecastEx event contracts made available through Aries. Customer accounts for these event contracts are carried by Advantage Futures LLC, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant. ForecastEx LLC operates a CFTC-designated contract market and registered derivatives clearing organization. Registration and membership do not mean a regulator recommends the product or guarantees an outcome.

How the contracts work

ForecastEx contracts are event-based swaps. Each market has a defined question and separate Yes and No contracts. Under the contract terms, the side corresponding to the resolved outcome normally pays $1 per contract; the other side pays $0. Special settlement or cancellation provisions may apply. The governing contract terms control.

A position is not closed by selling the same contract. ForecastEx permits an exit before resolution by acquiring the opposite contract for the same event. A matched Yes and No pair is settled for $1 on the following Banking Business day under the exchange rules. Acquiring the offsetting contract costs money and may incur fees. An offset may not be available when you need it.

Important risks

  • Loss and costs. An unfavorable resolution can leave a contract worthless. Fees and the cost of an offset reduce your result.

  • Prices and liquidity. Prices can reflect market-implied probabilities, but they may be inaccurate and can change quickly. A price is not a poll, an official result or an assurance of the outcome. Limited trading interest may make an offset expensive or impossible.

  • Resolution and interruptions. Each market uses specified definitions, sources and deadlines. Data errors, delayed announcements, disputes, trading halts or emergency actions can delay settlement or affect the position. Settlement follows the contract terms and designated source, not news reports or election-night projections.

  • Legal and eligibility changes. Availability depends on the customer, location and particular contract. Laws, regulatory action and exchange or carrying-firm restrictions may change. Access to the app does not establish eligibility to trade every market.

  • Restricted trading. Exchange and contract-specific prohibitions can apply to people with confidential information, influence over an outcome or other restricted roles. Review the current rules before placing an order.

  • Operational and intermediary risk. System outages, cyber incidents, errors or the failure of an intermediary may prevent orders, offsets, withdrawals or access to funds. Regulation does not eliminate these risks.

  • Account protection. Event contracts are not protected by SIPC and are not FDIC-insured investments. CFTC regulation does not guarantee your investment. The carrying firm’s account documents describe the applicable customer funds protections and their limitations.

  • Compensation and incentives. Trading charges and compensation arrangements may create conflicts. Incentive coupon payments are governed by exchange rules and the customer arrangement; their amount may change. They are not a guaranteed trading return.

Before you trade

Read the ForecastEx risk disclosure, the current contract terms on the market page, customer agreements and required risk disclosures, fees, conflicts of interest and eligibility and trading restrictions. Check Aries Futures LLC in NFA BASIC. Consider whether the product fits your financial circumstances and ability to bear loss.
