The case for and against

Updated Oct 15, 2026

Bull case

AirJoule Technologies is attractive because commercialization is no longer theoretical: Kubota has purchased two Core systems, Prime is slated for a European data-center deployment, Core DH trials are beginning, and a Core system has shipped to the UAE, all of which support a growing validation pipeline. Its technology appears differentiated, with a pressure-swing architecture that regenerates MOF sorbent at about 60°C–70°C and Prime energy use below 160 Wh/L using low-grade waste heat, while MOF costs have fallen from roughly $5,000/kg to below $100/kg. Financially, the company exited 2Q26 with $41.4M in cash, combined cash of $43.0M with the JV, raised 2026 cash burn guidance to about $27M–$28M, and still expects liquidity to fund operations and deployments into 2028.

Bear case

AirJoule Technologies is viewed negatively because customer conversion is still slow, commercialization depends on successful certification and field performance, and the company may need additional funding that could cause greater-than-modeled dilution before the JV reaches scale. Supply-chain dependence remains a concern because BASF is still the sole source today, while the Kubota relationship has not yet disclosed pricing, contract duration, or minimum volumes, limiting confidence in near-term revenue visibility. Although AIRJ had $43.0MM of combined cash at June 30, 2026 and no debt, the modeled 2027E equity raise and 2027E–2028E debt needs, alongside a venture cash balance that approaches zero by YE2028E, underscore execution and financing risk.
