The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Adlai Nortye is attractive because its lead asset AN9025 targets a clinically validated pan-RAS(ON) pathway in mPDAC, backed by preclinical data showing stronger affinity, 100x greater cellular potency, and comparable or superior in vivo efficacy at 1/250th the dose of daraxonrasib. The company also has an asymmetric setup, with a market cap of about $730M versus much larger RAS-focused peers, while a positive Ph1 readout in 1H27 could materially de-risk the program and support a re-rating. Beyond AN9025, the pipeline adds diversification through AN4035, AN8025, and AN4005, with AN4035 expected to have an IND in mid-2026 and initial data in 2027, expanding the long-term opportunity across CRC, NSCLC, and next-generation immunotherapy.

Bear case

Adlai Nortye is fundamentally challenged by a weak financial profile, since it has not generated product revenue, is not currently profitable, and faces rising operating expenses as clinical trials advance, creating clear liquidity and financing risk. Its lead RAS program, AN9025, lacks clinical validation and may face a narrow therapeutic window because systemic pan-RAS inhibition can drive off-tumor toxicity, limiting dosing, duration, and combination potential, while it is already estimated to be about 2 years behind RevMed in 1L mPDAC. Competitive and execution risk is also elevated because faster-moving, better-resourced rivals could blunt the commercial opportunity, and even if development succeeds, pipeline failures or safety setbacks could delay profitability materially.
