The case for and against

Updated Oct 22, 2026

Bull case

BlossomHill Therapeutics is well positioned because its lead asset BH-30643 is advancing through the global Phase 1 SOLARA study with plans for a pivotal Phase 2 in EGFR C797S+ NSCLC early next year, while early data showed 53% partial responses in 34 response-evaluable 2L+ patients and 78% responses in 27 TKI-naive EGFR+ patients. Its balance sheet also supports execution, with $95M in cash and equivalents at the end of 2Q26 plus $168M of gross IPO proceeds, implying runway into 2Q28 and reducing near-term financing risk. Beyond EGFR, BH-30236 has shown 28.6% marrow blast reductions on monotherapy and 36% ORR in R/R AML, while BH-501284 adds optionality as a preclinical pan-KRAS program with IND submission guided for 1Q next year.

Bear case

BlossomHill Therapeutics is a high-risk, pre-profit clinical-stage biotech whose value depends almost entirely on BH-30643 and two earlier-stage programs, leaving limited diversification and substantial binary trial risk. Although BH-30643 showed 53% partial responses in 34 response-evaluable EGFR C797S+ NSCLC patients as of the May 20th 2026 data cut, the data remain early, many patients were still pending or on therapy, and the company itself flags delays, regulatory failure, partnership setbacks, IP risk, and medium- to long-term dilution risk. Financially, it had $253.6 million in pro forma cash after its August 2026 IPO, but with forecast diluted net losses of $3.71 per share in 2026 and $2.99 in 2027, profitability is uncertain and future funding needs remain a concern.
