The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Bitdeer Techs is viewed favorably because it is converting scarce power capacity into long-duration, higher-visibility AI cloud and colocation revenue, highlighted by the 10-year 65.1MW Malaysia agreement and 206MW now secured across Malaysia, Norway, and the USA. Its AI Cloud business is scaling quickly, with ARR at about $76M, utilization near 95% across 4,248 deployed GPUs, and revenue up 284% Q/Q to $14.0M, while management sees demand for liquid-cooled, rack-scale capacity ahead of supply in 2027. At the same time, 2Q26 revenue of $228.8M and adjusted EBITDA of $31.1M showed improving operating momentum, and the company’s mix of BTC mining, rig sales, hosting, and AI services should support more predictable margins and long-term growth.

Bear case

Bitdeer Techs is viewed negatively because its business model remains highly exposed to Bitcoin price swings, hashprice compression, halving pressure, and rising competition, all of which can quickly erode mining margins and make operations unprofitable. The company’s push into AI cloud, colocation, and external Sealminer sales appears uncertain and capital intensive, while management has provided little evidence that the broader U.S. pipeline is converting into definitive agreements, leaving the colocation strategy unproven. Financially, the need for external funding is a concern, with roughly $750MM of incremental equity issuance expected over 2H:26-2027, which could dilute shareholders amid regulatory, cybersecurity, and energy-cost risks.
