The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Salesforce is attractive fundamentally because its Customer 360 platform, AIforce/Agentforce, Data 360, and broad CRM stack position it to capture an estimated $628B opportunity in FY2030, while the company’s agentic momentum is already visible in Agentforce and Data ARR of $3.9B, up 210% y/y. Demand signals are improving as cRPO growth accelerated to 14% in Q2, pipeline is at record levels, contract lengths are expanding, and NNAOV growth is now outpacing total AOV growth, which supports a reacceleration in revenue and later margin leverage. Customer commentary, partner demand, and the trust moat around zero data retention and governed AI access also suggest Salesforce can deepen wallet share through premium pricing, seat expansion, and higher AI consumption across core products like Slack, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud.

Bear case

Salesforce is facing a negative fundamental setup because its growth narrative depends heavily on newer AI and agentic products like Agentforce and digital labor, yet the market for those offerings is still unproven and revenue may not materialize as fast as investors want. At the same time, the company is exposed to execution risk from migrating customers off legacy marketing cloud products, maintaining a broad and aging product portfolio, and integrating acquisitions without weakening margins or market share. It also faces meaningful legal, regulatory, and operational threats, including privacy concerns, security breaches, data restrictions, and competition, which can pressure growth, disrupt service, and limit customer trust.
