The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Etoro Group is attractive because it combines organic funded account growth in the LDD+ range with a multi-asset platform that is broadening across equities, cryptoassets, commodities, currencies, options, AI-driven investing, and 24/7 trading, which should support AUA and share-of-wallet gains. Its financial profile also appears compelling, with mid-30s+ EBITDA margins, expected 11% net contribution CAGR, 15% adjusted EBITDA CAGR, 20% EPS CAGR, and roughly 408-410 bps of margin expansion from FY25-FY28, while valuation still sits well below the peer group at about 13x FY26 EPS and 5x FY26 EBITDA. Further upside comes from geographic expansion and accretive M&A, including TradeZero and earlier 2026 acquisitions, which strengthen the US active-trader push, add revenue diversification, and enhance capital allocation flexibility through notable net cash.

Bear case

Etoro Group is facing a negative fundamental setup because larger, better-capitalized competitors are eroding its differentiation, pressuring funded account growth, share of wallet, and pricing power across both core trading and adjacent products. The company’s monetization remains highly exposed to volatile market activity, and recent data show that 2Q26 adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 34.1%, free cash flow was about $37m versus $88m of buybacks, and July crypto volume dropped 64.1% m/m while AUA declined from $19.2bn to $18.5bn. At the same time, slower product expansion, weaker marketing ROI, regulatory uncertainty, and soft crypto take rates below 1% reinforce the view that growth and operating leverage may remain under pressure.
