The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

FuboTV is viewed positively because Disney’s 70% ownership and the integration of Fubo into Hulu + Live TV and ESPN create a much larger distribution ecosystem that should improve subscriber discovery, lower content costs, and strengthen advertising monetization. The restored NBCUniversal agreement also returns premium sports, news, and entertainment content across its plans, supporting conversion, retention, and potential pricing power after the November blackout, while the combined platform’s scale of about 6 mm subscribers and more than $6B in revenue underscores the strategic significance. Financially, management and analysts point to rapid EBITDA expansion toward $80M–$100M for FY26 and at least $300M by FY28, with 100% CTV ad units, 96% sports viewing, and favorable risk-reward supporting the bullish outlook.

Bear case

FuboTV is facing a weakening fundamental profile because subscriber growth is moderating, with 3Q26 expected to end at 5.6 million subs, down 10% y/y and below prior estimates, while North America subs are seen at 5.3 million and ROW at 0.3 million. Although revenue is expected to reach $1.5 billion, up 40% y/y, adjusted EBITDA is projected to fall 53% y/y to $14.7 million, highlighting limited operating leverage and fragile profitability. Its outlook is further pressured by intense competition from larger streaming rivals, dependence on third-party carriage and content partners, and the risk that consumer preferences or sports disruptions reduce demand.
