The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

GoDaddy is positioned well because it combines 81M domains under management, strong retention, and about $1.8B in annual FCF with a broad suite spanning domains, hosting, web building, email, payments, and security, creating multiple monetization layers from each customer. Its positive outlook is supported by management’s flexibility to invest, buy back stock, or pursue partnerships, while new Developer Platform and Hosting APIs, plus Airo’s momentum, could help recapture funnel share and lift attach rates toward low/mid-teens growth. Even as AI-native tools reroute the purchase journey, its trusted single-vendor proposition for small and micro businesses, along with a 24% share of total domains under management and valuation at 9x EV/'27E FCF, leaves meaningful upside if trends stabilize.

Bear case

GoDaddy is facing structural pressure as AI-driven agentic commerce and vibe coding tools compress the information asymmetry that long supported its domain, hosting, and add-on monetization. Since 2022, its .com share has fallen from roughly 35% to about 31% as of June 2026, while new-registration share slipped from the mid-20s% four years ago to 17-19%, signaling weaker funnel control and a thinner path to higher-margin Applications & Commerce attach. Although Airo bookings rose from $10M to $50M annualized in 2Q26 and management targets EBITDA margins above 33% in 2026, the stock already trades at 9x EV/'27E FCF and could face margin pressure, lower pricing power, and continued share erosion.
