The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Genmab is viewed favorably because its marketed portfolio combines durable revenue engines and multiple shots on goal, led by Darzalex in multiple myeloma and supported by Tepezza, Kesimpta, Rybrevant, Tivdak, and Epkinly across large oncology and autoimmune markets. The positive Phase 3 EPCORE DLBCL-2 readout, with EPKINLY + R-CHOP reducing progression or death risk by 51% (PFS HR 0.49), materially de-risks a first-line DLBCL expansion and increases confidence in meaningful commercial uptake. Beyond that, Rinatabart sesutecan’s 45.9% confirmed ORR in 109 heavily pretreated ovarian cancer patients, with 9.5-month mPFS and low discontinuation, strengthens the pipeline and supports further upside from underappreciated late-stage assets.

Bear case

Genmab is viewed negatively because its valuation depends heavily on assumptions that can quickly weaken if key products underperform, while the business still faces R&D, regulatory, legal, commercial, and competitive setbacks. The investment case is especially exposed to slowing DARZALEX sales, possible negative EPKINLY trial readouts, and lower-than-expected penetration across newer therapies, any of which could pressure revenue durability. On top of that, financing risks tied to the Merus acquisition and associated debt, plus acquisition and integration charges of 43.5, 185.0, 45.0, 32.0, and 77.0, add dilution and earnings uncertainty.
