The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Interparfums is supported by sustained sales momentum, with two quarters of growth and U.S. operations up 18% reported and 17% organic in 2Q, aided by stronger innovation, supply-chain recovery, and robust performance from GUESS, Donna Karan/DKNY, and other U.S.-managed brands. The firm’s upcoming innovation cycle, including Longchamp, Off-White, and new introductions across Montblanc, Coach, Guess, and Jimmy Choo, should reinforce growth through halo effects, although it requires elevated marketing spend and performance may vary by launch. The outlook remains constructive because the valuation re-rated from about 10x FY2 EV/EBITDA in June to 13.4x, reflecting confidence in execution while leaving upside if adoption of future fragrance launches or broader market growth exceeds expectations.

Bear case

Interparfums is facing a more cautious setup because much of the expected FY27 launch-driven upside appears already embedded after a roughly 30% rally since June, leaving limited near-term catalyst visibility. While 2Q26 sales of $341mm beat estimates, operating margin missed at $49mm and EPS came in at $0.95 as gross margin fell about 65bps from higher tariff costs, an unfavorable mix, and rising SG&A that increased 8% y/y. Weakness in Europe and the Middle East, which represent about 34% and 8% of sales, respectively, plus muted consumer demand through 2H26 and higher A&P spending, support a negative view on near-term earnings durability.
