The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Invivyd is attractive because it already has PEMGARDA authorized for immunocompromised patients and is advancing VYD2311 with a relatively de-risked Phase 3 program expected to read out by YE2026, while LIBERTY adds a rigorous head-to-head trial that could support labeling and commercial differentiation in 3Q26. The thesis is strengthened by evidence suggesting its antibody platform may deliver nearly twice the protection of current mRNA vaccines, alongside a much larger addressable population for VYD2311 than PEMGARDA and continued COVID-19 transmission that supports demand. Longer term, the company also has optionality from RSV and other viral programs, with RSV modeled at 20% PoS and 2030 market entry, while forecast peak penetration and per-dose pricing imply meaningful revenue potential if development succeeds.

Bear case

Invivyd is supported by improving COVID activity metrics, but its commercial opportunity remains constrained by a narrow immunocompromised population and an uncertain backdrop where transmission is rising without a matching increase in mortality. The reduction of VYD2311’s post-dose observation window to 30 minutes is a constructive safety signal and may indicate PEMGARDA’s rare anaphylaxis risk is lower than feared, yet management’s refusal to discuss blinded data leaves execution and regulatory risk unresolved. As a development-stage biopharma, Invivyd still faces the usual high failure risk from clinical readouts, regulatory uncertainty, and a price-sensitive market, while its $10 valuation case depends on a DCF framework with a 17.0% discount rate and 1.0% terminal growth.
