The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

LuxExperience is viewed positively because Mytheresa continues to outperform, with 3Q sales up 9.9%, top customers up 18.6%, AOV up 12.5%, and gross margin expanding to 47.1%, showing resilient full-price demand and share gains even in a tough macro backdrop. The outlook is also supported by improving operating discipline, as group SG&A fell about 12% year over year, the SG&A ratio improved to 18.3%, and the company posted a second consecutive quarter of positive Adj. EBITDA margin. Beyond Mytheresa, NAP/MRP and YOOX are showing early turnaround signs through higher AOV, stronger gross margins, and meaningful cost reductions, while the acquisition of YNAP should help triple GMV and create larger scale for future profitability.

Bear case

LuxExperience is exposed to a fragmented online luxury market where fierce competition can force overpromotion, pressuring sales and margins while making demand more volatile. Its business model is also highly dependent on brand relationships for access to supply, and because luxury brands can choose among multiple channels, that seller’s-market dynamic leaves the company with limited leverage and potentially weaker assortment control. The concentrated top customer base adds another layer of risk, as any slowdown in spending among key clients, alongside broader economic, currency, and cost pressures such as rent, freight, labor, tariffs, and raw materials, could materially hurt financial performance.
