The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

NovoCure is supported by a strengthening commercial base, with 2Q26 revenue of $183.6M, 5.5% sequential growth, and record active GBM patients in the US, while management raised 2026 revenue guidance to $710-$725M and adjusted EBITDA guidance to $0-$15M. The outlook is further bolstered by early traction in new growth drivers, including 418 Optune Pax prescriptions and 285 active patients on therapy in 2Q26, plus Optune Lua’s rapid Japan ramp to 64 active patients and $1.8M of revenue. Its thesis is also reinforced by a deep pipeline and expanding label potential, with METIS-based brain metastases approval anticipated in 4Q26 and ongoing trials that could broaden TTFields adoption across additional solid tumors.

Bear case

NovoCure is viewed negatively because the investment case depends heavily on Optune sales adoption and on TTFields proving broadly de-risked across several indications, yet downside is driven by the possibility of weaker commercialization or clinical failure in multiple programs. The valuation framework already embeds a 12% discount rate and a -25% terminal value through 2038, while only assigning modeled probabilities of success to Optune, 2L NSCLC, pancreatic cancer, and brain metastases from NSCLC, leaving other pipeline assets unrecognized. That setup highlights meaningful execution, regulatory, safety, competition, and IP risks, so any clinical shortfall or slower uptake could materially pressure future performance given its revenue concentration in the United States.
