The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Oruka Therapeutics is viewed favorably because ORKA-001 has shown unusually strong psoriasis efficacy, with PASI 100 rising to 71.4% at Week 28 and no re-dosing, while safety remained clean with no injection-site reactions and unrelated serious adverse events. Its competitive appeal is reinforced by infrequent maintenance dosing versus marketed biologics and by a sizable $1.1B cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities position at the midpoint of 2026, which supports development through the anticipated BLA filing for ORKA-001 and continued work on ORKA-002. The outlook is further strengthened by ORKA-004 expanding the pipeline and by the addition of seasoned commercial leadership, both of which improve the chance of successful execution and strategic optionality.

Bear case

Oruka Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company with a highly speculative valuation, as its thesis depends on ORKA-001 and ORKA-002 reaching pivotal trials, proving compelling efficacy, and ultimately securing approvals despite only a 75% and 40% modeled probability of approval, respectively. The business also faces meaningful financing and dilution risk because it will need access to capital markets to fund development and commercialization, while a 2Q26 net loss of $0.55 per share and projected full-year 2026 and 2027 losses of $2.54 and $2.82 per share underscore ongoing cash burn. Its biologic pipeline may have attractive peak sales estimates of ~$2.8B for ORKA-001 and ~$2.5B for ORKA-002, but broad I&I competition, regulatory uncertainty, and the possibility of slower uptake make the execution risk especially high.
