The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

  • Outlook Therapeutics is supported by a de-risked clinical and regulatory profile, as NORSE TWO showed statistically significant superiority over ranibizumab and the company won its FDA appeal in May 2026 after demonstrating effectiveness in its BLA for ONS-5010. Commercial momentum is also building, with LYTENAVA already launched in the U.K., Germany, and Austria, a June 1, 2026 BLA resubmission, and a planned U.S. launch by the end of calendar 2026 that could unlock first-year sales of $50
  • 75 million and over $500 million in annual U.S. sales by 2030. Financially, the business remains early-stage and loss-making, but estimates improving to $30.0 million of FY27 revenue and a narrower $(0.27) EPS, alongside recent capital raises and a balance sheet expected to fund operations into mid-2027, support the positive outlook.

Bear case

Outlook Therapeutics is viewed negatively because its lead asset has already suffered a major regulatory setback: the FDA issued a Complete Response Letter on August 30, 2023, citing CMC issues, open pre-approval manufacturing observations, and a lack of substantial evidence despite NORSE TWO meeting safety and efficacy endpoints. Even with a resubmission in February 2025 and a PDUFA goal date of August 27, 2025, the company still faces balance sheet and liquidity risk, commercialization uncertainty, and reimbursement hurdles in a market where ~70% of retinal specialists already use compounded bevacizumab because it costs only about $50-$100 per injection versus roughly $2,000 for Eylea and Lucentis. The recent share-price collapse to about 50% below $1.32 on 7/23/26 underscores fading confidence that LYTENAVA can displace entrenched, cheaper therapy or overcome manufacturing, regulatory, and competitive risks.
