The case for and against

Updated Oct 18, 2026

Bull case

Roivant Sciences is supported by a strengthening fundamental story built on multiple late-stage and commercial catalysts, led by VTAMA already in the market and brepocitinib, now branded Lisraya, becoming the first targeted therapy approved for adult dermatomyositis. Its pipeline also shows unusually strong clinical execution, with mosliciguat in PH-ILD delivering a 56.3% placebo-adjusted PVR reduction at Week 16, +35.2 meters in 6MWD, and supportive NT-proBNP improvement, while Phase III PHrontier has already been initiated. These results expand the company’s commercial optionality across high-unmet-need indications, with approximately $3B peak sales potential estimated for mosliciguat and durable differentiation from steroid-sparing benefits, once-daily dosing, and strong tolerability.

Bear case

Roivant Sciences is fundamentally challenged by a pipeline that has already shown clinical and execution risk, including failures of IMVT assets in non-infectious uveitis and cutaneous sarcoidosis, failure of mosliciguat in PH-ILD, and unanticipated safety issues across batoclimab, IMVT-1402, brepocitinib, and other programs. The investment case is also weakened by litigation setbacks, unaudited financial statements, and the fact that key products remain unapproved while facing regulatory, technical, and commercial risks in competitive markets dominated by larger, more experienced players. Although VTAMA is commercial-stage and valuation work points to a 2036 discounted risk-adjusted revenue estimate of $2.5B, that upside is heavily dependent on uncertain probabilities of success across multiple assets, leaving the stock’s fundamentals fragile.
