The case for and against

Updated Oct 15, 2026

Bull case

Revvity is supported by a strengthening fundamental backdrop as FY26 guidance was raised from 2-3% organic growth to 4-5%, while management also signaled improving markets, intact biotech funding, and early AI-driven demand that is lifting screening orders and pre-clinical activity. Its Life Sciences business, about 50% of revenue, is well positioned for a recovery in pharma/biotech investment, and the company’s software and diagnostics franchises add durable, higher-margin growth engines with signals software embedded at 47 of the top 50 pharma and biotech companies and reproductive health holding 90%+ market share. In addition, a mid-30s operating margin goal, pro forma FY26 adjusted operating margin around 28.4%, and a 17x FY26 P/E valuation with China IDx divestiture reducing risk all reinforce a favorable long-term outlook.

Bear case

Revvity is viewed negatively because its recent growth mix leans on a few temporary catalysts rather than durable fundamentals, with Diagnostics up 11% organic in 2Q but Reproductive Health’s strength tied to the GEL contract that annualizes in Q4 ’26 and then creates tougher comparisons. The China immunodiagnostics divestiture removes a persistent drag and policy risk, yet the fact that China once represented about 45% of Euroimmun sales at acquisition in 2017 underscores how much prior growth was exposed to a challenged market now facing mid-2025 DRG reimbursement reform and a closing expected by end of 2027. Meanwhile, Signals software is too small at roughly 9% of revenue to offset slower core growth, while structural headwinds such as declining birth rates, softer reagent recovery, and rising competition limit confidence in sustained outperformance.
