The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Rezolute is viewed favorably because FDA feedback after the March Type B meeting and the agency’s request for an independent review of sunRIZE data suggest an unusually constructive regulatory posture, including a pre-BLA meeting path without an additional study request for cHI. Despite sunRIZE missing its primary endpoint, ersodetug still reduced hypoglycemia from baseline, and the OLE study showed continued glycemic and clinical benefit over 9 months to 2 years, supporting the drug’s biological activity. The investment case is further strengthened by the upLIFT trial, where seven patients have already met responder criteria and roughly nine of 16 are needed for success, indicating a high likelihood of a positive readout that could expand commercial opportunity.

Bear case

Rezolute is a high-risk clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company whose outlook is pressured by the possibility that RZ358 or other candidates fail efficacy endpoints, show safety or tolerability issues, or require additional FDA studies despite positive data. Its lead target, congenital hyperinsulinism, is an ultra-orphan market with existing therapies and potential new entrants, which could limit uptake even if approval is achieved. Financially, the company has a history of losses, reported a net loss of ($0.20) per basic and diluted share, and may need additional capital to fund studies or commercialization, while lowered OpEx assumptions also reduced 2027E EPS estimates.
