The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

SiTime is supported by unusually strong demand momentum in precision timing, especially in CED where revenue has grown more than 2x Y/Y for nine consecutive quarters and 1.6T revenue is expected to rise 100% next year. The outlook is reinforced by 12-18 month visibility, a strong backlog, and the July 1 Renesas timing products addition that should contribute an incremental $85MM per quarter near-term, while shifting more revenue toward higher-margin applications. Financially, 2Q26 revenue of $157.4MM and non-GAAP gross margin of 67.1% beat expectations, and 3Q26 guidance for $290MM midpoint revenue and $3.60 non-GAAP EPS indicates expanding scale, better mix, and rising ASPs.

Bear case

SiTime is viewed negatively because its revenue base is highly concentrated, with Apple contributing approximately 40% and 35% of annual revenue in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and 36% of YTD revenue in the first nine months of 2020. Growth also depends heavily on winning new designs, while customer launch delays, long communications infrastructure ramps, and the cyclical semiconductor backdrop can quickly disrupt near-term results. Its fabless model adds operational risk through third-party wafer fabrication, assembly and testing, and additional overhangs include potential MegaChips stock sales and COVID-19-related supply chain constraints or demand destruction.
