The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Taboola.com is well positioned because its Realize platform broadens monetization beyond legacy native ads into display, video, and premium placements, helping it capture a larger share of the Open Web performance advertising market. The company’s 2Q26 results showed resilience with ex-TAC gross profit of $192.4MM, EBITDA of $55.5MM, and ex-TAC margins of 40.3%, while FY26 guidance still implies $772-783MM of ex-TAC gross profit and $228-240MM of EBITDA. Its Yahoo partnership, more than 9,000 publisher relationships, and recent wins with major publishers like Fox News support durable scale, while share repurchases and strong free-cash-flow conversion reinforce a favorable fundamental setup.

Bear case

Taboola.com is facing a fundamental growth reset as 2Q26 gross revenue rose only 2.4% year over year to $476.8 million, while 3Q26 and FY26 revenue guidance were cut by about 10% and 5%, respectively, due to the Google policy change and publisher cleanup. The company’s dependence on Explore More and a concentrated digital ad ecosystem leaves it vulnerable to platform rule changes, scaled competitors, ad blocking, and macro-driven weakness in advertiser spending. Although ex-TAC gross profit and EBITDA guidance were modestly improved, the abrupt removal of low-quality publishers, including roughly $40 million of lost 2H gross revenue, underscores execution risk and casts doubt on the durability of the growth strategy.
