The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

ArriVent BioPharma is supported by a diversified oncology pipeline that still offers multiple shots on goal despite FURVENT missing its Phase 3 PFS endpoint, as firmonertinib showed an 11.0-month mPFS by BICR versus 9.5 months for control and 60% versus 33% cORR, while overall survival trends remain positive. Its balance sheet is another key strength, with $373M of cash as of 2Q26 providing runway into 2028, reducing near-term financing risk and allowing continued investment in development. The highest-conviction catalyst is ARR-217 at ESMO, where ~20% ORR across doses and ~25% at potential go-forward doses in mCRC could meaningfully re-rate the stock, especially given the >$18Bn U.S. CDH17 opportunity and the ongoing ALPACCA Phase 3 trial.

Bear case

ArriVent BioPharma is viewed negatively because its valuation depends heavily on clinical-stage assets that have yet to prove themselves in humans, leaving the investment case vulnerable to readout risk, regulatory uncertainty, and competition. ARR-217 only entered Phase 1 clinical development in mid-2025, with initial clinical data not expected until 1H27, so the pipeline offers limited near-term visibility and may be judged against stronger benchmark data such as AMT-676’s 26% ORR and notable G3+ TRAEs. The company also faces slower-than-expected ALPACCA enrollment, negative efficacy data, and medium-term equity dilution risk, while the stated 49.7 million shares outstanding as of end-2026 underscores potential financing pressure.
