The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Keel Infrastructure is attractive fundamentally because it combines ~575MW of approved power across four sites with a much larger 2.2GW pipeline, giving it scarce, near-term capacity in power-constrained markets where prompt AI/HPC demand is rising. Its Panther Creek asset in PJM, plus other campuses in Pennsylvania, Washington, and Quebec, offers strategically located grid interconnections and proximity to major population centers, which should support low-latency workloads and premium contract economics as colocation terms improve. The investment case is further strengthened by active lease negotiations, ~29.4% gross mining margin, and substantial liquidity of ~$533M, all of which help fund the transition from BTC mining into higher-value HPC infrastructure.

Bear case

Keel Infrastructure is viewed negatively because its shift from Bitcoin mining to HPC infrastructure is still unproven, with the downside case centered on a longer-than-expected wait to secure its initial colocation contract and possible failure to obtain approvals for load-study pipeline power. That leaves the company exposed to permitting, construction, financing, and interconnection delays even as it works down BTC mining from ~14EH to a targeted ~5EH by 2026, and its Q1/26 revenue of $37.0M already missed one estimate while management plans to rely on BTC sales and asset monetization to help fund buildout. Despite a 2.2GW pipeline and ~650MW of approved power, the stock’s ~24x 2027 consensus revenue multiple and ~5M/MW valuation still look rich without signed HPC customers, especially versus peers already trading at contract-backed premiums.
