The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Payoneer Global is supported by a clear fundamental setup: its cross-border payments platform serves SMBs, freelancers, and marketplaces with a broad financial stack that reduces friction in international commerce and strengthens customer retention. The company’s operating momentum is improving, with 1Q26 revenue growth ex-interest accelerating to 11%, B2B volume rising 44%, Checkout up 55%, and ARPU ex-interest increasing 22% for a seventh consecutive quarter above 20%. Those trends, combined with expectations for 20%+ organic revenue growth over the long term and margin expansion, suggest a scalable business whose regulated infrastructure and global network could be worth more inside a larger payments platform.

Bear case

Payoneer Global is facing a muted fundamental outlook because its standalone equity story has effectively been eclipsed by Nuvei’s agreed all-cash acquisition, leaving limited upside as the stock trades close to the $7.40 per share takeout value. The deal values the company at ~$2.75 billion in equity, ~$2.4 billion in enterprise value, and about 7.8x EV/FY27E EBITDA, suggesting the market is now pricing Payoneer more as a transaction arb than as a self-help growth compounder. With closing expected in mid-2027 subject to regulatory approval, the key risks shift to execution and deal completion rather than operating momentum, which supports a cautious Hold stance.
