The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Rush Street Interactive is viewed positively because its core iCasino and sportsbook businesses are still showing strong underlying demand, with recent investor feedback and conference discussions indicating fundamentals remain solid despite seasonal post-NFL kickoff weakness. The company’s valuation appears attractive relative to growth, as it trades at 14x 2027E consensus EBITDA while still delivering more than 40% revenue growth and maintaining a debt-free balance sheet. Strength in New Jersey, Michigan, and Delaware, along with continued LatAm expansion and improving marketing efficiency, supports the case for durable share gains, margin expansion, and multiple re-rating potential.

Bear case

Rush Street Interactive is pressured by a highly competitive U.S. iGaming and online sports betting market where rivals have larger customer databases, better technology, and stronger balance sheets, while RSI remains dependent on market access agreements and third-party content. Its growth runway is also constrained by slow iGaming legalization and states favoring one or two operators, which limits addressable market expansion and raises the risk that higher customer acquisition and technology reinvestment costs will erode profitability. Near-term sentiment is further weakened by the stock breaking below its 200-day moving average and by expectations for slowing EBITDA growth, with management/projections pointing to only about +5% this year followed by a decline of roughly 3% next year.
